So about 2 weeks ago, I moved to San Francisco for school. Here’s a little update/recap of my life here.
I live on campus. I like my roommate, I like living in my own little room. I don’t really enjoy walking down to the opposite side of the hallway to use any part of the restroom or to use the water fountain. The dining halls leave a lot to be desired, but they have cereal at all hours, and if you know me, you know that I practically live on cereal. Laundry is just like doing laundry anywhere else. Basically, my life is the same, but with a few minor adjustments.
Classes are really good. I’m only taking 4 classes, or 12 units this semester. Creative writing, geography, Native American studies, and philosophy. I have just enough homework to make me understand the material, but I’m not drowning in papers. I don’t have any classes on Fridays, which makes every weekend a long weekend.
My social life is good, I’ve met just the right amount of people. At first, I was overwhelmed by constantly being surrounded by human beings, but now I’ve gotten used to it. I like the friends that I’ve made, and try to see them all as much as I can. Sororities are weird, I’m not sure if I want to join one or not, because I don’t think I’m a sorority type of person, but I also want to make some friends. I guess we’ll see. They just seem like a lot of commitment to me, a lot of money, a lot of people telling me what to do. Ugh, then I have to wear those stupid letters. Maybe I won’t join one.
I miss home because of the people, but not the setting. I love living on my own, I love living in the Bay Area, but I do miss my friends and my family.
